Abstract
Thirty-seven patients with cochleovestibihlar dysfunction were treated with flunarizine(Sibelium¢ç) for 6 weeks to evaluate the efficacy of the drug. Most cochleovestibular symptoms, such as vertigo or tinnitus were improved significantly in severity, however no therapeutic effects was seen in patients with hearing loss.
Drowsiness and mild gastrointestinal dysfunction were developed in two cases as side effects, respectively. It was suggested that flunarizine might be a effective drug in the management of cochleovestibular dysfunctions with negligible side effects.
